Rajeev Sangal
Dr. Rajeev Sangal, a distinguished researcher in Machine Translation and Artificial Intelligence, has also dedicated his efforts towards Universal Human Values. Previously, he served as a Professor at IIIT Hyderabad from 2018 to 2022.[1]
Prior to that, he held the esteemed position of being the first Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, from 2013 to 2018. Furthermore, Dr. Sangal played a pivotal role in the development of IIIT Hyderabad, where he served as the Director for more than two terms from 2002 to 2013, during its establishment. Before his tenure at IIIT Hyderabad, he served as a faculty member at IIT Kanpur from 1982 to 1999. During his time at IIT Kanpur, he also served as the head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 1987 to 1990.[2][3]
Education
Dr. Sangal holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, and he pursued his Master's and Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980.[4]

His research interests include Natural language processing, artificial intelligence, machine translation, and speech processing.[5]
