Suravaram Pratap Reddy (1896–1945) was a scholar, journalist, freedom fighter, and historian. He founded the influential Telugu journal Golconda Patrika and was a key figure in the Telugu cultural renaissance. He died before the Sahitya Akademi was founded; the inaugural award was conferred posthumously.
