==జీవిత విశేషాలు== 
చంద్రశేఖర్ 1920 నవంబరు 21 న కొమరవోలు రాజయ్య, పద్మాక్షమ్మ దంపతులకు జన్మించారు. ఆయన తండ్రి పాఠశాల ప్రధానోపాధ్యాయులు. చంద్రశేఖర్ పాఠశాల విద్యను గుంటూరు జిల్లాలోని [[బాపట్ల]]లో పూర్తిచేసారు. ఆయన చెన్నైలో గల ప్రెసిడెన్సీ కళాశాలలో ఎం.ఎస్.సి (గణితశాస్త్రం) లో పూర్తిచేసారు. 1942లో [[మద్రాసు]] విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో గణిత శాస్త్ర విభాగం నుండి పి.హెచ్.డి పట్టాను పొందారు.ఆయన [[కె.ఆనందరావు]] ఆధ్వర్యంలో పి.హెచ్.డి.ని పూర్తిచేసారు.

చంద్రశేఖర్ యు.ఎస్.ఎ లోని ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఫర్ అడ్వాన్స్‌డ్ స్టడీ, ప్రిన్సిటన్ లో ఉన్నప్పుడు [[హోమీ భాభా]] ఆయనను గణితశాస్త్ర పాఠశాల అయిన "టాటా ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ ఫండమెంటల్ రీసెర్చ్"కు ఆహ్వానించారు. ఆయన ఆ సంస్థలో అనేక విషయాలను బోధించారు. 1965 లో [[హోమీ భాభా]] మరణానంతరం చంద్రశేఖర్ ఆ సంస్థను వదలి [[:en:Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich|ఎడ్జినోసిచ్ టెక్నిస్కే హన్‌షూల్ జూరిచ్]] లో చేరి 1988 లో పదవీవిరమణ చేసారు.<ref>

==ఉద్యోగ జీవితం==
ఆయన "టాటా ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ ఫండమెంటల్ రీసెర్చ్"లో సీనియర్ ప్రొఫెసర్ గా, డిప్యూటీ డైరక్టరుగా (1949-55), పనిచేసారు. కేంద్రప్రభుత్వ సైంటిఫిక్ అడ్వయిజరీ కమిటీకి ప్రధాన సలహాదారుగా (1961-66), ఉన్నారు. ఇంటర్నేషనల్ మేధమెటికల్ యూనియన్ కు ఉపాధ్యక్షులుగా (1963-66), ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శిగా (1966-70) ఉన్నారు. 1965 లో జ్యూరిచ్ లోని స్విచ్ ఫెడరల్ ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ టెక్నాలజీలో ప్రొఫెసర్ గా పనిచేసారు.
