===Phylogeny===
A 2018 [[tip dating]] study by Lee & Yates simultaneously using [[morphology (biology)|morphological]], molecular ([[DNA sequencing]]), and [[stratigraphic]] ([[fossil]] age) data established the inter-relationships within [[Crocodylidae]].<ref name="LeeYates2018">{{cite journal | author=Lee, Michael S.
